Peterborough Salvation Army has a lively Children's Ministry, catering for children aged from 3 to 12 years.
Our mission is to bring children into a living faith in Jesus Christ by:
- Creating enjoyable environments
- Developing encouraging relationships
- Communicating empowering Bible teaching
- Enabling them to live effective prayerful and biblical lifestyles.
Convinced of the truth that every human being is uniquely created in the image of God and belongs to him, The Salvation Army is committed to the spiritual, mental and social welfare of each individual regardless of race, religion, culture, gender, physical and mental ability and economic status. We seek to safeguard all involved in Salvation Army activities. It is the responsibility of each one of us to help prevent the physical, sexual, or emotional abuse and neglect of children.
Our Safe and Sound policy is the Salvation Army's commitment to live out our mission in such a way that Safeguards the welfare of every child and young person involved in our faith community. If you would like more information about Safe and Sound please speak to Rachel Ward or a member of the children's ministry team.
Children leave the family worship service at 11.00 to follow their own programme of teaching. They receive quality teaching that is fun, relevant and delivered in age appropriate groups.
Currently we are following a programme called Incredible Islands. Children are, even at a very young age, very much in touch with new technology and what it can offer. A great deal of learning is delivered using the latest technology offered by smart phones and tablets of all shapes and sizes. As a digitally based medium, Incredible Islands harnesses the power of technology to engage children and equip them with biblical and educational knowledge in measurable ways.
Some children who attend our Sunday School decide they want to become Junior Soldiers. A Junior Soldier is a young person who has made a personal decision to accept Jesus in their life. For more information about being a Junior Soldier and to view the promise they make please click here.
