Our Work

In 1986 we relocated from the city centre to our current site in New England. The move allowed us to extend the scope of our work and commence some new initiatives particularly within our local community. As attendances at our meetings grew with the programme it became clear to the leadership team that we needed to further extend our premises to fulfil our mission. In 2000 a major extension and refurbishment was undertaken to facilitate the vision.

Large picture of hallOur centre is open every day to support our service to the community which includes friendship and help programmes, debt counselling, emergency clothing and food parcels, day centres, luncheon and CAMEO clubs to name a few.

We are proud of our heritage, and although The Salvation Army is a worldwide Christian church and charity, we are passionate about working out how to offer faith, friendship and practical help to people of all ages, backgrounds and needs here in Peterborough.
